Mon, 25 February 2008 This is the one year anniversery of the podcast. I have got the podcast a new e-mail adress it is annakarinsgenealogicalpodcast@gmail.com. I am also planning to give the podcast its own website and possibly a blog or newsletter. Any suggestions for improvments are welcome I would love to hear from you what you think of the podcasts first year, what it has meant to you or what can be improved writ to me or record a voice message as an mp3 file and send to me. Today I will speak about the Swedish National Anthem "Du gamla du fria" rougly translated. "Thou Ancient Thou free" The text was written in 1844 by Richard Dybeck and the melody comes from an old folktune from the province of Västmanland. Here is the text in swedish Du gamla du fria du fjällhöga nord Du tysta du glädjerika sköna Jag hälsar dig vänaste land uppå jord Din skog din himmel dina ängder gröna Din skog din himmel dina ängder gröna Du tronar på minnen från fornstora dar då ärat ditt namn flög över jorden. I know that thou art and wilt be as thou wert, Yes I want to live I want to die in the north Yes I want to live I want to die in the north the song is here sung by a singer named Arvid Asplund in an old recording from 1905 on a wax cylinder it comes from the Cylinder Preservation and Digitization Project at the University of California in Santa Barbara Ancestry.com has lately put up some swedish sources the two largest is called Swedish Emigration records 1783-1951 and it contains among other things some passanger lits. the other group are Värmland,Sweden Parish records 1661-1895. it contains scanned images of churchrecords from the province of Värmland I have taken a look at both groups the podcasts new e-mail is annakarinsgenealogicalpodcast@gmail.com Comments[7] |

I am glad to post my views and points in this blog, Blogs are becoming the main source of knowing about things certainty,its importance,idolizing,either in a marketing way that one can differentiate. I enjoyed to be at here because one of my point has been cleared here.
